CJ came up on the finance side of healthcare, and it shaped everything that followed. His first leadership role was as Assistant CFO of a health system in Youngstown, Ohio, where he wrote the restructuring plan that returned the system to profitability. What he learned there has held up in every job since: the mission only survives if the economics work.

He spent the next nine years running the Bravera Health market in Spring Hill and Brooksville, Florida, moving from Market CFO to Market COO to Chief Administrative Officer. Running a community hospital market taught him that growth does not happen on a spreadsheet. It looked like building a freestanding emergency department and a joint-venture cath lab from the ground up, launching service lines that won physicians away from competitors, and opening a nursing school on campus when the staffing pipeline dried up. Most recently, he led a ten-center ambulatory surgery market for United Surgical Partners International, part of Tenet Healthcare, where the work was the future of healthcare in miniature: moving care out of the hospital, partnering with physicians, and making the economics work for everyone at the table.

Today, CJ works with operators and investors on hospital and ASC economics, market strategy, physician recruitment, and value-based care. Engagements range from evaluating a single deal or service line to building multi-year market strategies with leadership teams.

His approach comes from having sat in the seat. Every recommendation gets tested against the same two questions: do the economics actually work, and can this team execute it? That is where CJ spends his time, helping leaders grow healthcare businesses that hold up in the real world.
